Now isn't that the questions that all of us have asked at one point. How can I succeed or can I succeed in an honest online home business? It's a sad fact that there are many people trying to succeed at this every day, yet only a few actually make it. Why do some make it what others fail? Why is that honest online business so elusive to some?
Now I don't profess to have all the secrets to success, but I certainly have seen what many of them are and even clearer are the secrets to failure. Working as a coach, mentor and consultant to both online and offline business, I see many making the same mistakes and most of them make them over and over.
I'm not trying to beat up those who are failing. I'm trying to show possibly why you are failing, and also to help those just getting started so they can avoid those traps.
COMMITMENT:
The biggest reason for failure, in my experience, is lack of commitment. That may sound harsh but I can assure you it's true. Lot's of people get started but after a few days or weeks they simply get tired of putting in the work. Yes, the work can get boring and repetitive, but it's a necessary component for success. Many people just have no idea how much discipline it takes to work for yourself.
EXPECTATIONS:
Another big reason I see people simply giving up is that they have unrealistic expectations for their online business. They fall victim to all the get rich quick with no work, and on auto-pilot junk that people are selling. Yes, it's junk. If it was easy to get rich, and it took no work, everyone would be rich. Take a minute and think about it. I could write a book about it, but you can figure it out by simply taking a minute and think logically. Didn't anyone every tell you: "if it seems too good to be true, it probably isn't".
KNOWLEDGE:
The last big thing, there are more but these are the big ones, is the lack of knowledge. That knowledge can be regarding the market niche, but more often it is much simpler that knowledge of a particular market. It's lack of knowledge on how to market. If you want to create that wonderful honest online business, you first have to learn how to market. It's easy, but it takes effort and there is a learning curve. There are great programs out there to help you learn how to market. Just be careful as there are many more who profess to teach you, yet they simply teach you how to market one specific thing. What you need is to learn how to market anything. That way you can create any online business and create several.
I really hate sounding negative on this subject, which often happens. It's because more people fail than succeed. I guess that is true of brick and mortar business as well, but it's more painful to see with online business because it's actually so much easier to succeed online.
